Welcome Mighty Warriors to Destination 2, Mission 3, Designed with Purpose!
You've already learned that you're God's Masterpiece. You aren't random. You aren't an accident. You were carefully and intentionally created.
But today we're discovering something even deeper.
If God made you as His masterpiece, did He have a plan when He shaped you?
Let's find out.
Mr. Jenson stood at the front of the room, his eyes bright with excitement.
Today, Mighty Warriors, we have a special guest.
The door opened, and in walked a kind-faced man wearing an apron dusted with clay. Behind him sat a small pottery wheel, and on a nearby table rested a smooth lump of rich brown clay.
This, Mr. Jenson said, is Mr. Elias. He's a master potter.
Mr. Elias gave a warm wave. Hello, Mighty Warriors.
He lifted the clay gently and placed it carefully in the center of the wheel.
Before I begin, let me ask you something. What do you think this will become?
A bowl, Dakota shouted.
A cup, Ari guessed.
Mr. Elias smiled. Wonderful ideas.
He pressed his foot to the pedal. The wheel began to spin. The clay wobbled at first, soft and unsteady.
Ayden leaned forward. Do you know what you're making yet?
Mr. Elias chuckled softly. I knew what I was making before I ever put the clay on the wheel.
The room grew quiet.
You mean you already had a plan, Ayden asked.
Yes, Mr. Elias replied. I never sit at this wheel without a design in mind. I see the finished piece even when it looks like a simple lump.
His steady hands pressed gently but firmly. The clay stretched upward, then curved inward. Water shimmered on its surface as it began to smooth out.
It doesn't look like much yet, Ayden whispered.
That's because you're watching the process, Mr. Elias said kindly. But I can already see what it'll become. Strong. Balanced. Beautiful. Useful.
Ayden stared at the spinning clay.
For a moment, he imagined what it would feel like to be that clay.
Spinning.
Stretching.
Changing shape.
What if the clay didn't understand what was happening?
What if it thought the pressure meant something was wrong?
But the potter's hands were steady.
Careful.
Intentional.
The wheel slowly came to a stop.
Where a shapeless lump once sat now stood a tall, beautiful vase. Smooth. Strong. Designed with purpose.
Mr. Jenson stepped forward and opened his Bible.
Mighty Warriors, listen carefully to this promise from God's Word.
He read slowly and clearly.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29 verse 11
The room was still.
Mr. Jenson looked around at the children.
Did you hear that? God says He knows the thoughts He thinks toward you. He isn't guessing about your life. He isn't experimenting. He already has thoughts of peace toward you. Not evil. A future. A hope.
Ayden looked back at the finished vase.
So just like Mr. Elias knew what he was making before the wheel even started spinning, God already knows what He's doing with us?
Mr. Elias nodded. Exactly. I never shape clay without intention. And God never creates without purpose.
Ayden imagined the clay again.
Maybe the clay didn't always understand the spinning.
Maybe it didn't enjoy the stretching.
Maybe it couldn't see the final design.
But the potter could.
Mr. Jenson gently touched the vase.
This didn't become beautiful by accident. It became beautiful because it stayed in the potter's hands.
Ayden felt something steady settle inside him.
So even when I don't understand what God is doing, He does?
Yes, Mr. Jenson said softly. And His thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace. His plans are filled with hope.
Ayden smiled.
He wasn't just clay.
He wasn't spinning through life without direction.
He was a masterpiece.
And the Master Potter already had a good plan.
Mr. Jenson closed his Bible and smiled warmly.
So you see, Mighty Warriors.
When God made you, He wasn't guessing. He was intentional.
Just like a master potter knows every detail before the wheel begins to spin, God knows the plans He has for you.
They aren't plans to harm you.
They're thoughts of peace.
They're filled with hope.
They lead to a future.
Sometimes life may feel like the spinning wheel. You grow. You change. You may not always understand what God is shaping in you.
But the clay doesn't need to see the finished design to know it is filled with purpose.
It only needs to stay soft and trusting in the Potter's hands.
You are God's masterpiece.
He made you on purpose.
And the Master Potter already has a good plan for your life.
Until next time Mighty Warriors!
