★ The Masterpiece Mystery
Today, Mr. Jenson, their art teacher, had a special project for them. “I want each of you to create a masterpiece—something that shows who you are!” Mr. Jenson said.
The kids got to work. Ayden painted a big, bright lion because he was brave. Ari used tiny, detailed patterns to make a beautiful butterfly, showing her love for creativity. Kylie painted a heart with different colors swirling inside because she loved helping people. Dylan, always full of big ideas, made a bold painting of a mountain standing tall.
When they were done, they stepped back to admire each other’s work. “Wow, these are all so different,” Kylie said. “But they’re all masterpieces!” Ayden added.
Just then, a loud gasp came from the front of the room. “My painting is gone!” Ari cried. Her butterfly masterpiece was missing from her table!
The Mighty Warrior Kids looked around. Who could have taken it? They searched high and low until Dylan noticed something. A little boy named Toby sat in the corner, holding Ari’s painting. He had tears in his eyes.
“I’m sorry,” Toby sniffed. “I just wanted my painting to look as good as Ari’s. Mine didn’t feel special.”
Ari gently sat next to him. “But, Toby, your painting is yours—no one else can make it like you can! God made us all different, just like our art.”
Mr. Jenson smiled. “That’s right! Just like an artist puts care into their masterpiece, God created each of us with love. You don’t have to be like someone else to be special.”
Toby wiped his eyes. “So…my painting is special, too?”
“Of course!” Kylie said. “Just like God made us all unique, He gave you a special gift, too.”
With a big smile, Toby returned Ari’s painting and proudly showed off his own. From that day on, he never doubted that he was God’s masterpiece.
